Linda Greene

Linda is a Teaching Principal in a rural three-teacher school in Wicklow. She qualified from Mary Immaculate University in 2003. Linda has taught in both urban DEIS II single-gender schools and small schools. Within this time, she held posts as classroom teacher, SET and language support teacher. She previously held a middle management position before becoming a principal in 2012.

This variety of experience has enabled Linda to see how education works from various aspects and has informed her role in leadership and management. When she was appointed to the role of principal, she began the transformation of the existing school. Having been educated in a two-teacher rural school in Clare, she always had an appreciation of the importance of small schools in rural communities. Linda was pleased when the opportunity arose to become part of a small school cluster in 2021. Linda’s developing passion is to see small schools being supported and appreciated for the unique educational gems that they are, and ensure that they are sustainable for future generations.
