Kieran Lyons

Kieran graduated from St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra in 1998 and taught for 17 years in Sacred Heart of Jesus National School in Huntstown, Dublin 15 before being appointed as principal in St Colmcille’s BNS in Swords in 2015. Kieran returned to Sacred Heart of Jesus NS as principal in 2016. Sacred Heart NS is a large and diverse urban school comprising 28 mainstream classes and 4 ASD classes, with inclusive education a key focus in the school.

Kieran has a particular interest in promoting and encouraging sustainable leadership in primary education, particularly through shared leadership within schools and collaboration and support between school leaders. Kieran is an active member of the Dublin 15 Principals’ Local Support Group and of the National Council of the IPPN.
