Eleanor Corry

Eleanor is from Kilkee, County Clare, and is currently in her third year of secondment as a Professional Learning Leader (PLL) with the OIDE Leadership team. She has been Teaching Principal of Scoil Réalt na Mara in Kilkee since 2011.

Eleanor began her teaching career in 2002 at Clohanes NS, a two-teacher school in West Clare. In 2007, she moved to Scoil Réalt na Mara, where she initially worked as a rural coordinator, supporting five DEIS rural schools, and later as a mainstream class teacher.

Eleanor received her Master of Education from Mary Immaculate College in 2005. More recently, she completed the MOiD sa Lán-Ghaeilge agus Gaeltachta, where her research focused on strategies for transferring skills across languages. She has a keen interest in all areas of leadership. She is particularly interested in the development of leadership capacity across the school team, sustainable leadership and the role of leadership in enhancing the teaching and learning of Irish in English-medium schools.
